December Column
This season invites us to give— not only gifts wrapped under a tree, but the quiet gift of presence, of kindness, the unspoken gift of love.

December Reflections
by Sir Raymond Winters
Happy December, everyone!!!
Although December 12, 2004 is the date my father passed away… I choose to remember and celebrate his life instead of being sad. It took me a while to be able to feel this way, but I will always choose happiness. I remember what a spectacular person my father was, the light he brought to the world… and so I’m thankful and happy for having known him and being a part of something so special.
As the light of the year grows softer and the chill of the evening settles in, we find ourselves gathered by the glow of hope renewed. This is our time.
This season invites us to give— not only gifts wrapped under a tree, but the quiet gift of presence, of kindness, the unspoken gift of love.
In the stillness between the moments, there is space for peace to enter, for old burdens to release, for our hearts to remember what we’ve been given— and what we, in turn, can give.
Let’s walk forward with open hands, not weighed down by what we must do, but uplifted by what we may become.
May our lives reflect the light we long to see in the world.
May this season of giving bring you renewal, the simple joy of being—with those you love, for those you serve—be your guide home.
Have a wonderful and happy holiday season.
Sincerely,
Sir F. Raymond Jason Winters. KCSJ. SOJ
